Director: Mandira Purie

Mandira Purie is a retired public servant who worked in a variety of federal departments on social justice issues, both in the operational and policy sector. She was also an Investigator with the Canadian Human RIghts Commission. Mandira was integrally involved in developing Canada's position for the United Nations Conference Against Racism. Most recently, she had an eight month assignment with United Way Ottawa as a loaned representative from the government. Prior to the assignment, she worked in the Department of Immigration, where she worked on integrating immigrants into Canada, developing regulations for immigration consultants and co-ordinating a team which conducted an in-depth risk analysis on whether the individual who had committed serious crimes in Canada was at risk if deported back to his country of origin.
