Fulltime Training

Community Interpretation Training

Community interpretation requires more than a simple word-for-word translation. Words and sayings have a cultural importance which needs to be transmitted in such a way that both parties understand not just what has been said, but also how and why.

Covering a wide range of topics—from ethics to note taking—CISOC's Community Interpreter Training Program emphasizes the role and responsibilities of the Community Interpreter and provides the necessary skills-training for students to become successful Community Interpreters. Stressing real-world situations, students are presented with the practical techniques used by Community Interpreters to manage interpretation sessions, while maintaining the highest levels of fidelity and professionalism.

This intensive, fulltime training course is taught in English and is of use to anyone interested in becoming a Community Interpreter, regardless of which languages they speak.
